Cookies + cocoa go together just about as perfectly as bread and butter, am I right? Sipping cocoa by a twinkling Christmas tree is one of my favorite pastimes during the holiday season. Also, I just have to digress for a second and get everyone’s opinion on Hallmark Christmas movies. Do you love them or hate them? Sure the endings are always predictable, but there is something that I love about that. What’re your thoughts?
Anyways, I love a hot cocoa bar during the winter months. Today I am giving you a peak at how to host a Cookies and Cocoa Party to celebrate the holiday season.
HOT COCOA BAR
Hosting a Cookies and Cocoa Party is the perfect excuse to get together and catch up with friends, and is festive for this time of year, too. Simply grab a few packets of cocoa, bake or purchase some cookies and you are essentially ready to go!
ALL OF THE DETAILS
Give your guests the option to spruce up their hot cocoa with lots of toppings. I provided salted caramel chips, milk chocolate chips, cinnamon, peppermint stir sticks, and whipped cream. I added a little detail to the whipped cream can by cutting out a rectangular piece of brown construction paper and wrapped it around the can. I use a black marker to label the can, so guests still knew what was inside.
I love using apothecary jars for parties. It is perfect to hold toppings, such as marshmallows. Just supply guests with a little scoop or spoon to prevent too many germs from being passed around as guests help themselves.
I love creating layers with various snippets of fabrics and textures. Here I mixed a wood round, burlap, a cute little white cake stand (similar), and a wooden crate to add various heights and visual interest.
CUPS WITH COCOA
Stick a packet of cocoa and a spoon in individual mugs for guests. When it comes to preparing their cocoa they will have everything they need to mix and stir their cocoa. I also love having an electric hot water kettle, especially for things like this. It really makes things so simple. Mine is a few years old, but this one is really similar.
Well, I am off to make myself some hot cocoa now, and maybe eat a few cookies, who knows! Do you love hot cocoa as much as me? And I can’t believe it is already Friday. I am so excited for this weekend. I am doing two sessions of Christmas mini photography shoots and I have one sweet maternity shoot. It should be such a fun weekend. Wishing you the best weekend, too! Happy day, friends!!
